Job Description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is primarily to assist partners and associates working on non-contentious construction finance transactions, which may include the following:

  • Bibling
  • Conditions precedent scheduling and monitoring
  • Ensuring documents are filed correctly
  • Completion and chasing collateral warranties
  • Scheduling documents
  • Assisting fee-earners with research
  • Proof reading
  • Providing relevant documents to the associates and partners
  • Assisting on other administrative duties as required

The paralegal may also be asked to assist other fee earners within the practice group, depending on the requirements of the construction team.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • The role requires an individual who is both methodical and logical in their approach to work and can demonstrate good organisational skills
  • Proficient on Word & Excel
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with different cultures an overseas based clients
  • Individuals must demonstrate good attention to detail

ABILITIES/APTITUDES

  • Calm and professional in the face of competing demands
  • The individual must be able to demonstrate that they have the confidence to work for a variety of levels (i.e. associate & partner level)
  • Whilst the individual will be working as part of a team, he/she must be able to work on their own and be able to liaise directly with the client and others, possibly at a senior level

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • A university degree is essential
  • Experience working in a commercial law firm is preferred
  • Candidates will ideally have completed the LPC
