Job Description

Key responsibilities and challenge

The role of a Competition/Antitrust know-how paralegal involves but is not limited to:

  • Monitoring global competition law and foreign investment control trends and developments, as well as recent cases – primarily at UK and EU level. Sources used to complete these tasks will include the regulators’ websites, PLC, and Mlex.
  • Performing various legal research tasks, including writing blog posts and helping to prepare presentations and other materials for internal and external use.
  • Sanitising confidential documents to produce non-confidential versions, ready to be uploaded to the firm’s internal know-how database.
  • Curating the group’s know-how intranet page and maintaining and updating various internal resources.

• Willingness to work long hours where there is the requirement to do so
• Strong attention to detail (especially on time consuming and repetitive tasks)

Education / Qualification
 Law degree or equivalent and LPC/BPTC (Not essential)

Prior competition law experience is preferred but not essential.


• Fluent in English.

• Strong awareness of MS office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Extremely organised - able to prioritise and manage workload
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent eye for detail and presentation
• Good office administration skills
• Quality assurance and customer service experience
• Attention to detail

Commercial Skills

• Good business acumen
• Sound understanding of legal market
