Job Description

We currently have an opportunity to join our Leasehold Disputes Team (LDT)  in our Newcastle office based on the Quayside.  You will join as a Legal Assistant but, as soon as you successfully complete your 6 month probationary period, you will be promoted to Paralegal. You'll see from our website that we have a lot of specialist areas.  Our LDT team is part of our Dispute Resolution and Litigation Department made up of over 300 legal professionals.

Who are Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP?

We're a  transatlantic law firm, providing high-quality legal experience and outstanding personal service to a wide range of regional, national and international clients from 26 key locations across the United States and the United Kingdom.

So what will I be doing?

This role will see you providing legal services using a case management system for the collection of ground rent and service charge arrears.  We act for some of the biggest Property Management Companies and Investment Companies in the UK. You'll maintain and proactively manage your own caseload with lots of training and support with our managing associate Yvonne Ramsay and the wider team.

What skills/academics are you looking for?

First and foremost you'll need legal qualifications. This role would suit an individual who holds a law degree or similar.  You'll need to solve problems and make decisions on files, provide a fast and efficient turnaround of work and maintain an enthusiastic and flexible approach as well as the willingness to use your initiative in order to take responsibility for tasks.  This role needs a high standard of organisational skill, the ability to communicate confidently at all levels on the telephone, face to face and through routine correspondence and ultimately deliver a first-class service to our clients.

Why work for Womble Bond Dickinson?

The team is extremely busy so you'll be able to get stuck into great quality client work immediately.  You'll be supported by a collegiate approach and a firm wide commitment to development.

In addition, through our D&I practices and programmes we work hard to ensure that difference is visibly valued and welcomed. Visit our D&I page to find out more.

Alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you.

We have an enviable office location in Newcastle, in fact all our offices are impressive and looked after by our great Facilities and Guest Services team.  We have a catering company who run our onsite deli and our forward thinking IT team are always updating our systems.  As you'd expect in a firm our size you'll receive a comprehensive benefits package which you can manage personally.

But most of all – it's our people and culture that make it a great place to work.
