We have a fantastic opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Construction department in the Gatwick office. Working as a Paralegal within this well-respected team, you'll provide preliminary advice and guidance to clients well as preparing letters and document. The Construction team handles both contentious and non-contentious work. On the contentious side, you'll assist with preparing bundles, drafting statements of case and researching legal arguments and principals for adjudications. On the non-contentious side, your role will involve assisting with reviewing and drafting construction contracts (using both Irwin Mitchell precedents and standard form industry contracts), drafting schedules of amendments to standard form contracts, reviewing and drafting appointments and warranties, and researching case law updates for presentations and articles. You'll need to be a confident communicator with rounded client service skills as well as being able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. Previous legal experience would be beneficial and ideally, you will have completed the LPC although this is not essential. This is a great opportunity to be part of a friendly team where you will be fully supported to develop your legal potential. If you are looking for the next step in your career and have a particular interest in Real Estate and Construction law, we would love to hear from you. The Benefits In addition to your basic salary we have a competitive benefits package including pension, critical illness cover, health cash plan, death in service, discounted legal services, 25 days hols (this increases with length of service), discounted online shopping, discounted gym memberships and season ticket loans. Additional Information As part of the Irwin Mitchell Group’s on-boarding process all successful applicants are required to complete the group’s employment screening process. This process helps to ensure that all new employees meet our standards in relation to honesty and integrity therefore protecting the interests of the Group, existing employees, clients, partners and other stakeholders. The background checks made will establish your eligibility to work in the UK, and criminal record check and financial checks with a credit reference agency will also be undertaken. The employment screening process will fully comply with Data Protection and other applicable laws.
